Home Sweet Home For The Newlyweds – A New Wedding Registry Option

Here is a new trend that makes a lot of sense!  Why register for china, towels or linens when what you really need is a house?  While the economy is sputtering along, it’s more difficult than ever for couples starting out to save enough money for a house.  And the building industry is not having such an easy time selling houses, either.

That’s why we love the latest announcement from Bozzuto Homes – they launched a bridal registry to enable friends and family of engaged couples to contribute to their down payment.  After the wedding day, Bozzuto Homes will match the funds received from guests up to $15,000 toward the purchase of a new home.

Now, that’s innovative and practical, especially because so many couples now already have their households established before they get married and don’t really need that set of pans or knives.

The question is how will the friends and family react?  What will the wedding etiquette followers say?  Our advice – if having a house of your own is very important to you, be honest, explain to your friends and family how much it means to you, demonstrate to them how hard you are working toward your goal of owning a home ….and go for it!

We would like to challenge all home builders and real estate companies across the country to follow Bozzuto Homes – this wedding registry is good for the whole community!
